From trash removal to community wide celebrations, San Diego Coastkeeper offers many opportunities for families, friends, neighbors, community groups, co-workers, and concerned citizens to supports its efforts to protect our local waterways and keep them healthy and accessible to everyone.

Signature events include twice-monthly beach cleanups, our annual Ocean Gala and California Coastal Cleanup Day, which is celebrated the third Saturday every September.

International Touring Musicians Walk the Watershed
On March 20, elementary students and local community members will walk through Swan Canyon in City Heights, periodically stopping at environmental educational stations to learn about things we do inland that eventually impact our coastlines. After the walk, participants will enjoy a party including food and music.

Events like Walk the Watershed help educate students and residents about ways to restore and protect their celebrated natural resources that are hidden in highly developed areas such as City Heights. RFK Jr.Celebrate World Oceans Day
San Diego Coastkeeper, Birch Aquarium, San Diego Oceans Foundation and Think Blue San Diego a beach, kayak, and dive cleanup on June 8 in honor of World Oceans Day. The celebration continued in the afternoon at Birch Aquarium with a host of other activities to celebrate our connection with the ocean.

Paddle for Plastics California Coastal Cleanup Day
Join San Diego Coastkeeper, I Love A Clean San Diego and California Coastal Commission for the 24th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day on September 25, 2010 for the largest volunteer event in San Diego County. More information
